K R I S T I N G R A V E S
Kristin Graves is a fifth-generation farmer in Alberta, Canada, and the author of The Garlic Companion. She started Fifth Gen Gardens in 2017 with a goal to connect people with local, wholesome food. In the years since, her garden has nourished families throughout central Alberta and has provided many ingredients to chefs at local restaurants. She creates artisanal garlic products using her own farm fresh bulbs, with a heavy emphasis on farm-foraged ingredients. Kristin is a market gardener, a garlic goddess and a grain farmer all in one, and is deeply passionate about growing on the family farm!
O U R F A R M
The Graves family has called this land home for over a century now. Spanning over five generations, the farm has seen many types of agriculture, such as grain, cattle, gardens, bees, fish (trout), and more! Most recently, our efforts have been focused on conservation efforts to maintain wetlands. By working with nature, we have taken old excavation sites and transformed them into well established ponds that many animals now call home. We are more than just stewards of the land, we are a part of it.
